OZ Coat Powdercoaters has been powder coating in Elizabeth South, northern Adelaide, since 2000. We rebuilt their WordPress site as five tight pages with a hero you can play with: drag across a bare alloy wheel and it takes the colour.

The Challenge

Powder coating is hard to explain and easy to show. Their old site ran on WordPress with Divi. The new one had to show the process, not just describe it.

What it needed:

  • Show the finish - A way to watch bare metal turn into colour, right on the home page.
  • Answer the colour question - Colour systems, finishes, metals and specialty coatings in one place.
  • Stay short - Five pages: home, about, services, work and contact.

Our Approach

One idea on the home page, then the detail behind it.

  • Phase 1: A hero you can use
  • Phase 2: The colour library
  • Phase 3: The process, step by step

Phase 1 : A hero you can use

The hero is a canvas. Drag across a bare alloy wheel and it sprays powder coat as you go, in any of six swatches. A demo stroke plays after a moment, and anyone who prefers reduced motion sees a coated wheel instead.

Phase 2 : The colour library

A tabbed chart covers colour systems (Colorbond, RAL, chromes and candy), finishes (gloss, satin, matte and textured), the metals they coat, and specialty work.

Phase 3 : The process, step by step

A pinned scroll section walks through the job and a numbered register lists the services. Schema marks it all up: LocalBusiness, FAQPage, and HowTo steps for the process.

The Colour Library

Four tabs: colour systems, finishes, metals and specialty. A customer can check a finish before they ring.

Beside it, a plate shows how a job is specified, so people know what to ask for.

The Contact Form

One step: name and email, then phone, the item to be coated and a message. It sits on the contact page next to the workshop’s details.

Where It Stands

The rebuild runs on a preview link and moves to their own domain at go-live.
